I completely second this approach and have seen dramatic improvements in my own life following a similar approach of learning 3 new skills every month.

One thing I’d add, Michael Simmons, which I thought wasn’t clear from the bottom-line section is that reading is one part of the equation, applying the knowledge is where the real learning happens.

Elon Musk became good at these different fields by experimenting on the things he learned through the books he read.
