Hey Tim Rettig, I’ve been there too, thinking I was writing too much about myself and asked the same questions to some my readers.
Basically, as long as you answer “what’s in it for me?” in your stories, you’ve done your job. Talking about yourself should enhance the point you’re trying to make to give them the thing they’re looking for.
And I find that your own personal stories help be relatable and answers the “what’s in it for me?” better.
This is the general answer I got, and an opinion I share with them.
I personally haven’t read all your stories, but those I read didn’t have too much “you” in them.
