2021 Wasn’t All That Bad, Was It?

A simple mindset shift to try to think differently

I don’t know about you, but my 2021 sucked. Basically, 100 percent of the goals I made in 2020 for 2021 fell through.

It was the economy’s fault. It was my baby’s fault. Really, it was anything but my own fault. Everything was working against me in 2021.

I hope the above paragraph makes you mad. Or at least makes you cringe.

Sadly, you hear it too often. Heck, you might say things like that yourself (please don’t).

Really, the reason I didn’t reach any of my goals is because of me, no matter how bad the situation was around me. I didn’t reach my goals because I chose to chase other goals, accidentally or not.

When I reflected on my past year earlier this month, it initially bummed me out. I had achieved none of my goals.

In 2021, my one-word theme was “remarkable”, yet I had done none of the remarkable stuff from my list. The only thing remarkable about my achievements from that list was that I achieved none of it.

If I had stopped there, it would have been a major downer.

Thankfully I didn’t stop there.
